What makes WHAALE special and different?
With our app you can:
- Play music/ambient-sounds on up to 6 AirPlay™ speakers simultaneously (*) and (**)
- Listen to one song on multiple speakers in different rooms (multiroom mode)

- Listen to different songs on different speakers (multizone mode)
- Have all the excitement of listening to multiple songs/sounds on multiple speakers in the same room (using ambient mode…you might have the latest tracks from Cuba backed up by ambient street sounds from Old Havana, for example)
- Benefit from a special intuitive multi-touch interface…unlike other apps on the market this is the only one allowing you to see a clear visual display of all your speakers and music choices right in front of you!

And there’s more…
You get:
- A smart widget for the ‘Today View’ in the notification center…it lets you control the app while the application runs in the background
- A system ready to go with no setup needed - all the speakers are recognized automatically once they are available on your local network

- Full access to the music library on your iPad/iPhone/iPod (you do have to download iTunes Match/cloud items to your device before they can be played) - see http://itunes.whaale.com for details
- The Deezer Music service brings a selection of over 30 million songs for your listening pleasure - see http://deezer.whaale.com for details
- The Audiobus source which lets you play music that comes from other apps supported by it. See http://audiobus.whaale.com for details
- Our WHAALE Family Feature…it makes multiple WHAALE apps in the same network work together easily - see http://family.whaale.com

----- Please note before you buy -----
By default, the app can play music:
- stored on your iOS device (but Apple Music is not supported, see below)
- provided by the Deezer Music service
- comes from Audiobus-compatible apps
- on up to 4 AirPlay speakers or the internal speaker of the iOS device.

It supports up to 6 speakers, internet radio and UPnP media servers, available as an In-App-Purchase.

-The app doesn’t work with Apple Music (because it’s DRM protected and can’t be played on third party apps).
-The WHAALE app only handles sound from other apps which are supported by the Audiobus app.
-You can’t play music on AirPlay speakers and the device’s internal speaker/docking station at the same time.
- Bluetooth speakers are not supported.

The WHAALE Multiroom Player supports all Airplay™ certified devices on the market and will run on iPad 2, 3, 4, Air/2, iPad Mini/2, iPhone 4/S, 5/S and 6/Plus and iPod touch 4 and 5 (see **).

Software-based AirPlay-implementations like Airfoil, XBMC, Reflector are not currently supported.
Please check http://airplay-multiroom.whaale.com for further information about multi room audio systems.

AirPlay is a trademark of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.

* Needs an optional in-app-purchase; 4 speakers are activated free; further speakers will work in demo mode for 5 minutes.
** Due to the limitations the devices themselves up to 3 speakers maximum
are supported on the iPhone 4 and the iPod touch 4.

Pros and cons of WHAALE Multiroom Player app for iPhone and iPad

WHAALE Multiroom Player app good for

I buy this app without understand what it was, so I cant say anything good or bad, exempt that developpers reply to emails. I post this morning an really bad post. That was not fair regarding the amount of work there is behind a less than 1€ app Im sorry
We wait for it. Whaale do it. Cheaper will be better ... Thanks to Whaale anyway.
I paired 2 Cambridge air 200 with an Apple TV (correction of 145 ms. for sync) and works wonderfully in an open Space of approx 80 m2. Easy to set-up, simple to handle, no fancy, useless gimmicks: just focus on sound. A much cheaper and versatile option than the all in one : Sonos, Musicast that do not give flexibility in building multi-room with different equipments. Whaale app allows to blend multi brand materials either for cost (current january sale offer interesting opportinities for previous generation equipment, as long they have AirPlay), or quality or size or design reasons. Highly recommanded.
very good, do not understand why apple not offered that, free, before
I like the idea with the placement of the speakers on the screen. So Ill give you a five!
The multi speaker synchronization is incredible. Im not getting anymore Sonos equipment.

Some bad moments

I bought it to use with 4 Geneva Airplay speakers (Aérosphere) after having seen information on it on the Geneva tech documentation. It used to work very well with 2 speakers (several days), but with 4,(after another in app purchase of 2 euros) it’s unusable. The connexion is having troubles all the time, it’s even not playing well… I have an Ipone 6, so it should be ok in terms of performance. For this very high price, it’s not worth. You have to add in app for everything. 2 euros more to play internet radios…etc… 2 euros per added speaker… So in total it’ds about 20 euros, to have something that is just not working. I’ll ask a full refund.
The whole reason I purchased this was to be able to play with my phone docked in a speaker in one room and my Apple TV in another room at the same time. The sound does not come out of my phone/dock speakers, and Apple TV is the only speaker that shows up. So, I wasted my money.
The user interface is complicated for nothing. Its not reactive at all. But most of all it seems to be confronted to the same limitation that kept iOS device out of a native multi-speakers handling. iOS devices, specially iPhone and iPod, suffer of poor WiFi antenna. In most case, even with a state of the art wifi router, as an AirPort Extreme or an Asus RT-AC68U, iOS devices are not able to stream without interruption to 2 separate speakers. Event if its 2 high-end Airplay speaker with good wifi signal strength. Basically the App is pretty much useless. I hope they will prove me wrong soon ;)
Just down loaded this program and it does not work with Bluetooth speakers, apple only as far as I can tell Once you buy it to make everything work just keep buying and maybe it will work but I wouldnt bet on it. I rate this as a dud. I just wasted $8.
Does not work. Wont refund. It play choppy. Not able to play music. Waste of time. Avoid!
I just not work. I have four speakers across my house and I am still not able to play music across the house correctly. I tried to use the application several times and was not able to make it work. Its just money down the drain.
